The dream of being on the cover of Vogue has always been on the lips of every high-end designer fashion house. Now, that same dream has seemingly come true in a matter of minutes with just the click of a button. Not only for us here at Jade Alycia Inc., but also for the entire BIPOC community. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to complete the #voguechallenge
This hashtag turned virtual sensation went viral on social media as a way for Vogue to show solidarity while helping to amplify black voices in light of the Black Lives Matter movement. People of color would take the initiative to design Vogue Covers highlighting the faces and works of black artists, fashion designers, makeup artists, photographers, models, stylists and more. This challenge would shine the spotlight on black lives and black-owned businesses in fashion that matter and are viewed/valued as true LUXURY.
We decided to join in on the DIY Vogue cover challenge. We've always envisioned our one of a kind handmade pieces being featured on the covers of the elite luxury magazines in the fashion industry. Today, that dream has seemingly come true as we work to fight against racism and systematic inequalities in our industry. Our cover highlights the beauty of our rainbow designs while introducing others to their new favorite black-owned accessories brand.
Here's where we need your help. We have designed five different Vogue covers to choose your favorite from. Cast your vote on our Facebook or Instagram page for the one you love most! The winning cover will be announced in our stories.
