WE PLEDGED!: Here's How We Are Partnering To Take A Sustainable Stand Against Fast Fashion

Updated: Nov 16, 2020

On April 23, 2020 also known as Earth Day, Jade Alycia Inc. partnered with Circular Fashion and over 60 sustainable fashion brands worldwide to pledge for a "path towards a cleaner more dynamic, creative and quality driven fashion industry." Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jade Alycia Inc. strived to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and style by joining virtual hands with fellow small business owners for one common cause.

It's no secret that the fashion industry is a known contributor to the seemingly endless landfills of waste. Much of which can be attributed to the fast fashion sector. Every second the equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned. However, 95% of discarded clothing can be recycled or upcycled.

At the start of Revolutionary Fashion Week, Jade Alycia Inc. made a commitment to by the end of this year, 2020, increase the total percentage of certified recycled content or scrap fabric by 10% in our top five selling items. CEO & Designer of the brand, Jade Alycia states, " This pledge was more than just another way to show our passion for sustainability. It was our way of continuing to take a stand against all the pollution produced by our industry. Though we may only be one brand willing to make a difference in the lives of fashion goers, our impact on the industry as a whole when brought together as one will be significant."

Jade Alycia Inc. is a brand that stands for sustainability and style. It was only fitting that we would band together to join and bring awareness to a movement that we are so passionate about. Jade explains, "We are all about making big moves in new directions that challenge our perspective of fashion and what is deemed a luxury. This pledge seeks to do exactly that by encouraging the use of recycled, refurbished and repurposed materials to essentially turn trash into high-end treasure. This motto is at the core of our values as a brand and myself as a creator."

By agreeing to take part in this pledge to push for more sustainability in fashion, Jade Alycia Inc. has earned its signatory badge for being one of the first 60 brands to sign, which we proudly display on our As Seen In page in the featured partners section.

If you are a sustainable brand or one of our eco-conscious fashion goers who are interested in joining this movement, you can find out more information on how you can pledge and make your commitment to sustainable style at Together we can take the first steps to re-writing the rules of fashion.
